Daily Photo 296 to 299, Catch up time. As you may or may not know Maine got hit with a snowstorm on Sunday, Nov 2nd that left thousands without power. We were one of those. We were without electricity from Sunday afternoon through Wednesday afternoon. The high winds caused extensive tree damage that in turn affected the power lines throughout the state. We are thankful the temperature was not colder and blessed we made it through this quite well considering no generator or backup heat.
I am going to post my photos for that time without the computer and catch up in this one post. Please bear with me.
Daily Photo 296 – Two Seasons. Sunday as the snow started to fall I was drawn to how the fallen Autumn leaves were being covered and blown by the Winter snow fall.
Daily Photo 297 – Clean up time. Monday morning Hubby cleaned out the driveway.
The backyard looked quite pretty with the fresh fallen snow. Notice in the foreground of this photo the deer tracks from the night before. Also how the fallen leaves were scattered about and some stuck upright in the snow.
Daily Photo 298 – Newport Lake. Mornings we headed to Newport for a hot coffee and breakfast and then we would sit at the lake side for a while. A group of thirty Ruddy Ducks had been lazily floating around as some Hooded Mergansers and Mallards kept busy fishing. We even saw about 20 Canada geese hanging out at Newport Lake. After time at the Lake we would ride around the block to Corinna and then home again.
Daily Photo 299 – Turkey’s visit. Wednesday afternoon a group of nineteen turkeys showed up. They hung around the areas where the snow had melted for a time and then departed. As you can see the snow is melting nicely.
