Daily Photo 349 – Snowman. With all the rain we have pretty much lost all of what snow we had. Right now the sun is shinning, the wind is howling and it is 44 degrees. And yes it is December 25th! It certainly is not good weather for rolling and building a snowman outside. I took matters in hand and built my own snowman – with yarn!
Actually this is a special order for a young lady, just 22 years old that recently was diagnosed with breast cancer. The caring oncology nurse found out that the patient loves snowmen and asked if I could not make one. She sent me a picture and after the trial and error of two I came up with this one that I am happy with.
I’ve found that after making the 1st of a new item I usually adjust or change something in the pattern to simplify and better suit my taste.
The photo that was sent me was found on Pinterest which leads to this site on Ravelry. This was meant to be a place mat. The one I just finished is made smaller and with a hanging hook behind the hat. So it can be hung on a door or wall or laid out on a tabletop.
