Photo project, 2017-2018
Tracey Nadeau, Gladys Buzzell’s daughter, recently encouraged me to join her in doing a 365 day photo project. I was privileged to do one back in 2014 – 2015 with Gladys. There were days it seemed so difficult to find something to photograph for the project and other days zillions of photo ops would pop in front of you! Together we encouraged each other, we learned, we laughed, we shared. It was a treasured time and I miss Gladys so very much.
I don’t get out and about as much anymore and I recently had some computer resolution issues. Computer issue is taken care of and I’m loving my new desktop and monitor. Aside from the previous two distractions and to be frank, photo taking just didn’t seem the same anymore.
At first hearing from Tracey on doing a project together I didn’t think I wanted to but giving it more thought, I decided it might be fun and perhaps I could start with a weekly photo instead of daily. I’m beginning to feel that joy again to take photos, thank you Tracey for that encouragement and the ‘kick in the pants’. A trait you inherited from your Mom, she was always had an encouraging word and radiated with sunshine and joy.
Tracey is posting her daily photos on her Facebook page, you can view them here: http://facebook.com/tralee101
This is what she wrote about it: “I have decided to honor my Mother’s memory by doing what she loved. She loved to take pictures. She did project 365 and enjoyed and learned much from it. I too enjoy photography, but have not taken pictures since she died. Now i want to honor her by returning to what I love and to do it with the project that she found joy in. I also would like to encourage her friend Liz to do the same. My mom would love us doing this for ourselves and each other. So without further ado, here goes nothing…”
I will post on my Facebook page and here on my blog. I might not say much but I will be posting a photo every Saturday. I do hope you will follow along and feel free to leave comments.
I was going to start December 23rd, and every Saturday following, but why wait? Below you will find my first weekly photo. It was taken December 2nd though and not this past week. Blue Jays bickering!
